Uploaded Jun 12, 2019California Thursday is an initiative started by students in Oakland who realized that the food they were eating came from some other country a great distance away. Also, their research showed them the amount of processing the food underwent. Looking around they asked, "why, living in California, the salad bowl to the world, are the foods we eat coming from so far away". In keeping with that question the Robla School district has a once a month California Thursday where the food come from local farmers and growers. Check out the video.
Uploaded Nov 15, 2018Every month the Foodbank of California provides fresh produce for the students at Taylor. Taylor students are given a large bag of fresh produce to take home and share with their families. This is done given the impact on fresh produce in the Taylor Street boundaries.
Uploaded Oct 26, 2018Mrs. Mertz 3/4 GATE class created dioramas of differing environments. Then, opened a pop-up museum at the Main Avenue Cafeteria. Students from Main came and visited the museum on a field trip. Stay with us through the year as we follow all the GATE classes on all their academic adventures.
