Robla School District, in collaboration with the Roberts Family Development Center, concluded Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with a heartwarming and vibrant Parent Dinner on May 30th. The event brought together families, students, and community members to honor and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the AAPI community.
Event Highlights
Live Performances: The evening was enlivened by the dynamic Clementine Brass Band, whose performances filled the air with infectious energy and enthusiasm.
Student Artwork Displays: Guests were treated to a stunning showcase of student artwork, reflecting the creativity and talent within our district. Each piece celebrated the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our students.
Delicious Cuisine: Robla Food and Nutrition Services provided a delectable dinner, featuring a variety of dishes that delighted the taste buds of all attendees. The menu was thoughtfully curated to represent a blend of flavors that honor AAPI traditions.
Cultural Dance Performances: The Ntxhais Deev Saib dance troupe captivated the audience with their beautiful and graceful dance routines, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural traditions of the AAPI community.
Inspiring Guest Speakers: Paul Lau, CEO of Sacramento Municipal Utilities District, delivered an inspiring speech, sharing his personal journey and valuable life lessons. He emphasized the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone, pursuing dreams, and creating opportunities for everyone in the community, regardless of their resources.
District 2 Sacramento City Councilmember Shoun Tao also addressed attendees, highlighting the importance of community and cultural celebration. His words reinforced the significance of unity and support within our diverse community.
