Robla Celebrates Latin Heritage Month

Robla School District is excited to celebrate Latin Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) and has a number of activities, both online and in person, to highlight the many cultural, community and worldwide contributions of our students, staff, families and notable figures who are of Latin heritage.

In addition to school site celebrations, the Robla School District has partnered with the Roberts Family Development Center on the following district-wide activities:

Latin Heritage Month Parent Empowerment Dinner: Robla School District parents are invited to the Latin Heritage Month Parent Dinner on October 19th!  We will be wrapping up Latin Heritage Month with a delicious dinner at Main Avenue Elementary (1400 Main Ave., Sacramento) and will offer parents and children free dinner, live entertainment, guest speakers, and free child care. Our guest speaker, Dr, Lisa Cardoza, President of American River College will share ways parents can support their children in school now so that they can make successful choices in the future, including taking advantage of opportunities in community college and higher education.

Student artwork from Latin Heritage Month will also be featured!

Latin Heritage Month Notable Figures Videos: Over the next four weeks, we will be paying tribute to Latin heritage, and sharing videos about people of Latin heritage who positively influence our communities, culture, and, in some cases, our nation. Check out the educational videos linked below to learn more about the lives of these individuals. We will be posting these videos weekly on Robla School District's Facebook and Instagram accounts, and teachers will also share these videos with their students.
